1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. They let the site remember your actions and preferences — such as items in your cart or your cookie choices — over time. We also use similar technologies such as local storage. This policy explains what we use and how you can control it.
2. How We Use Cookies
We group cookies into four categories. Only the first is switched on by default; the others are set only with your consent through the cookie banner shown on your first visit.
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to work. These keep your shopping cart and session together, remember your cookie choices, and protect the site against abuse. They cannot be switched off through our banner.
Analytics & performance
Help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are popular and how people find us — so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics through MonsterInsights. Data is aggregated and used to improve the experience.
Functional & preferences
Remember choices you make, such as language or display preferences, to give you a smoother visit.
Marketing & social
Set by third parties when you use or view embedded social content (for example our Instagram feed). They may be used to show you relevant content on other platforms. You can decline these without affecting your ability to shop.
3. Specific Cookies You May Encounter
- Shopping cart & session (WooCommerce) — remembers what is in your cart and keeps you logged in.
- Cookie consent (CookieAdmin) — records which categories you accepted.
- Security (Loginizer) — helps protect the site against malicious login attempts.
- Analytics (Google Analytics via MonsterInsights) — measures visits and behaviour in aggregate.
- Social embeds (Instagram) — may set cookies when our feed loads.
Cookie names and lifetimes can change as we update our tools. The categories above describe why they are used.
4. Third-Party Services
Some cookies are set by third parties whose services we embed (for example Google Analytics and Instagram). Those providers have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we recommend you review.
5. Managing Cookies
You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time using the cookie banner/settings link on the site. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site — such as the cart and checkout — from working.
6. Changes and Contact
We may update this policy as our tools change. Questions? Email hans@mogadorestates.com. For how we handle personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
